This is copied off the powerpoint, but i put it on here because i know some people are too lazy to look at powerpoints.

Ionization Energy
Ionization Energy INCREASES across a period
Ionization Energy DECREASES down a column

Electron Affinity
As you move across the row, the electron affinity increases. (Becomes easier for an electron to accept an atom). As you go down the column of the periodic table, the electron affinity decreases.

Electronegativity
In general, electronegativity increases from bottom to top in a column and left to right across a group.

Atomic Radius
Atomic radius decreases as it goes across the row. Atomic Radius increases as you move down a column

Ion Size
The trend across a period is not direct, but does decrease overall. The metals (cations) decrease in ionic size until the non-metal (anions) come up, at which there is a drastic increase in ionic size, after which ionic size decreases once again. Ion size increases as you move down a group on the periodic table.

Do you find this valuable?
